What the OS Dual WiFi network acceleration does is to allow users connect to two different WiFi networks simultaneously. This results into improved bandwidth speed and stability. Let’s examine how the technology works on both devices.

OPPO

Presently, the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is the only smartphone from the Chinese OEM that supports the Dual WiFi technology. Compared to regular WiFi that connect to a single network, when the Reno 10x Zoom is connected is connected to two different WiFi networks, download speed and website loading speed are bumped up by 322% and 44.5% respectively. Watch the demo video released by OEM. The dual WiFi technology of Oppo’s ColorOS 6 can connect to:

A 2.4 GHz hotspot and a 5GHz hotspot; no interference in different frequency bands, and can send and receive data independently in parallelTwo 2.4GHz co-channel hotspots, or two 5GHz co-channel hotspots, time-division multiplexed channel transceiving data (TBD)

Additionally, the two WiFi networks can have the same SSID (network name) or different SSID. And lastly, the two hotspot/networks can also be from the same (dual band) router.

Vivo

Compared to Oppo’s, Vivi’s Dual WiFi technology is a bit different based on how it functions. As showed in the demoed video (embedded below), the Vivo iQOO smartphone with Dual WiFi connected to two different WiFi (one 2.4 GHz and one 5 GHz) networks but will only use the faster network for download and other activities. The Dual WiFi technology is an intriguing one and has a number of practical usage. For example you have two WiFi networks in your home/office and you’re downloading a huge file. You need to leave the room to another room but don’t want to disconnect/slow down your download. That’s where dial WiFi comes in. Doesn’t matter which room you got to, you’re are guaranteed of fast and stable internet. The Dual WiFi network acceleration technology has already rolled out to OPPO Reno 10x zoom and users can begin to use it as soon as they install the Dual Wi-Fi network acceleration firmware package on their device.
