Konka Group Co., Ltd. is a Chinese manufacturer of electronics and telecommunication products based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, China. The Company is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of color televisions (TVs), set-top boxes, Fridges and major appliances. When we visited the Konka store on Jinja road Kampala, they had flat screen TVs ranging from Ugx 1.9m to 6 million, free-to-air decoders or set-top boxes, smartphones and fridges of all sizes. While Konka might have great products, they are not a known brand in Uganda. That means they have to do aggressive advertising and promotions to gain market traction.
